Blast wave interaction with structures – An overview

چکیده

Blast–obstacle interaction is a complex, multi-faceted problem. Whilst engineering-level tools exist for predicting blast parameters (e.g. peak pressure, impulse and loading duration) in geometrically simple settings, wave fundamentally altered upon with an object its path, hence, the are themselves affected. This article presents comprehensive review of key research this area. The formed five main parts, each describing: direct on surface finite-sized structure; modified pressure wake region three obstacle types – walls, obstacles, wall/obstacle hybrids; finally, brief description some methods such blast–obstacle settings. Key findings relate to mechanisms governing attenuation, example, diffraction, reflection (diverting away from target structure), expansion/volume increase, vortex creation/growth, as well properties influencing these, porosity (blockage ratio), shape, number obstacles/rows, arrangement roughness.
